The challenge was to identify a niche market that could be used to integrate with a dating app.
One of my hypotheses was to focus on the music industry since a main function of a mobile device is used to listen to music. Based on my research and backed by the Nielsen rating, it was determined that in 2017 music was consumed approximately 8% more than in 2016. This let me know that I was on the right track.
The concept was to integrate a music player into a dating app. The user would rate the songs they listened to and, in doing so, be paired with other users whose song ratings were similar. From there the user had the option of continuing the match by chatting with a match directly in the app.
